Leanne Bolson (Lower Division)

Leanne grew up on the east end of Long Island, NY. She knew at a young age that she always wanted to be an educator since she was inspired by so many teachers in her lifetime. Leanne is motivated everyday by the privilege of speaking into student’s lives and helping them mold themselves into someone ready for the world.

Leanne earned a Bachelor’s of Science from SUNY Oneonta. During her undergraduate studies she became certified in early childhood/childhood education birth-6th grade. Having a passion for reading and writing, she decided to extend her studies with a concentration in English Education and became certified to teach ELA grades 7-9. After graduation, Leanne jumped right into teaching by accepting a first grade integrated co-teaching position in East Harlem. She taught both first and second grade in Harlem for a total of four years. During this time, she earned her Master’s Degree in Students with Disabilities from Touro College. Leanne was thrilled at the opportunity to continue her teaching journey at Q300 and move to Astoria, Queens where she has many friends and family. Leanne recently completed her second Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Administration at Hunter College and looks foward to pursuing leadership opportunities in the future.

Outside of teaching, Leanne loves traveling and immersing herself in new places and cultures (especially the food). She is also a huge advocate of the arts. Growing up, she spent a lot of her time performing in school and community theater as well as dance for fifteen years.
